First Things First: Who Can Open a bunq Account?

We’re active in many countries within the European Economic Area (EEA). All EEA citizens over 18, residing in countries we operate in, can sign up for bunq. If you're not a European citizen but live in one of these countries, you’re eligible too!

Ukrainian citizens who have become refugees due to the ongoing conflict are also eligible to open a bunq account.

If you're under 18 and live in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Ireland, or Italy, you can also open a bunq account. However, you’ll need permission from a legal guardian who also has a bunq account (even a free one works!).
