What interest rate applies to me?
The interest rates for bunq Business Savings Accounts depend on the currency you choose to save in: For EUR Savings Accounts (available to all EEA residents): The annual variable interest rate is 0,75%. For USD and GBP Savings Accounts: The annual variable interest rate is 2,3%. These rates apply to all bunq users, as saving in multiple currencies is possible. Please note that interest rates are variable and may change over time.
Can I withdraw funds from my savings account at any time?
Yes, you can withdraw funds from your bunq Savings Account, but to encourage saving, withdrawals are limited to 2 per calendar month. You can withdraw the full balance or just a partial amount—it’s completely up to you. Here are a few key points to keep in mind: The 2-withdrawal limit applies to all your bunq Savings Accounts combined. The limit resets automatically on the 1st of each month at 01:00am CET. You’re free to close your Savings Account at any time after moving your money out.
Who can open a business savings account?
Any bunq Business Account user can open a Business Savings Account, provided they meet the following conditions: You must have a verified Personal account with bunq. You, as the director, must not be a minor. Your business must be legitimate and registered in one of the following countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, or Ireland. You must permanently reside in the country where your business is registered. Your business must operate under one of the legal forms currently accepted by bunq (you can find the full list here). Your company’s corporate structure and activities must comply with bunq’s standards. Each business entity can have only one account with bunq. If your company operates under multiple trade names (registered under the same Chamber of Commerce registration), you can open separate accounts for each trade name. All layers of your company must be registered as separate active legal entities with the Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, there are some restrictions: You cannot open a Business account if any UBOs or non-executives reside outside the EEA. Businesses with pending bankruptcy or insolvency cannot open accounts. Different documentation may be required depending on your business type or freelance status.
Can I open multiple savings accounts?
Yes! With a bunq Pro or bunq Elite account, you can create up to 25 savings accounts, each with its own unique IBAN. This allows you to send and receive money independently and take full control of your budget. You can also personalize each account and group them as needed for a clear and organized financial overview.
How does bunq ensure my savings are safe?
Your Euro savings are protected by the Dutch Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS), which insures deposits up to €100,000 per account holder across all bunq accounts (excluding investments in stocks and crypto). This guarantee ensures that your money is secure while you save with bunq.
