Our Green Efforts Make Top 3!

They ranked us 3rd in a list of 27 financial institutions active in the Netherlands.

What’s this about?

We believe that the fight for a greener planet belongs to all of us, for the future of next generations. By playing our part in the fintech world, we wanted to lead by example. And so, a couple of months ago, we published our first climate report, in line with our ambitions to meet the goals of the Paris agreement.

In short, that requires us to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030. We’re currently at 8,100 tonnes of CO2, a fraction of the average financial institution's carbon footprint.

We’re not there yet, but we’re well on our way - and ready to share every step with you!

Who recognized our achievements?

The Fair Finance Guide Netherlands (Eerlijke Geldwijzer) was established in 2009 to inform people about banks by gauging their performance using independent criteria. This empowers you to choose a socially responsible bank. The guide is a coalition of Amnesty International, Milieudefensie, Oxfam Novib, PAX, and World Animal Protection.

The Fair Finance Guide Netherlands just ranked the climate change commitments of financial institutions active in the Netherlands. The research concerned 27 financial institutions, and we’re happy to say that we’ve ranked 3rd.

What was the criteria?

The assessment framework consisted of 12 criteria related to 6 key dimensions of a climate plan: commitment, measuring of carbon footprint, action plan, scope, portfolio alignment and transparency.

Why does that matter to me?

Being recognized at such a high level for our commitments for a better future makes us very proud. But besides investing in sustainable projects, we make sure that you also have the freedom to make green choices, with zero effort. We all need to start acting responsibly to fight climate change - and we hope everyone will join us in this effort.
