As you may know, bunq Elite plants a tree for every €100 you spend. Every time you spend €100 with any of your bunq cards as an bunq Elite user, our system confirms the payment and we donate a tree to our partners at veritree.

veritree is a platform that ensures transparency and real-time tracking of our reforestation efforts. Together, we've planted over 30 million trees, aiming for even more in the coming years. This effort is comparable to removing over 900,000 cars from the road for a year.

Deforestation is a serious environmental issue. Around the world, it’s linked to problems such as animal extinction, pollution, climate change, natural disasters, and forced migration. It’s up to all of us to make a difference and help heal the lungs of our planet—so we decided to take action!

On a monthly basis, we fund the trees that you plant with your bunq Elite. This support goes directly to veritree to help restore environments in Kenya and Tanzania, aligning with several UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The trees you plant through our reforestation efforts capture approximately 308kg of CO₂ over their estimated 25-year growth life.* By spending €1,000/month with bunq Elite, you can significantly contribute to global reforestation.
