Quick checklist for starting a business

December 3, 2021

To make things smoother, we’ve put together a short list of things to take into consideration when you’re just taking off.

1. Register your business

Are you a freelancer, or do you own a start-up? Are you running a one-man show or are there more people involved? Either way, make sure to register your new business with the authorities and get all the right legal forms (don’t forget insurance!), so you can start focusing on what matters most: your new adventure!

2. Get a business bank account

One thing’s for sure, your business financial needs will be a bit different than your personal ones. In some countries, it’s actually a legal requirement to have a business account if you own a business, so make sure to check if this applies to you.

Requirement or not, a business bank account will save you time and money in the long run. How? Mostly by automating a lot of admin work, so you don’t have to deal with any of it while keeping those creative juices flowing.

Moreover, a Business bank account at bunq is a perfect way to increase your savings without any effort. With bunq’s high interest rate, it’s super easy to maintain a savings account next to bank accounts you use for your day-to-day business, so you automatically save money while you grow your business. Win-win!

  • Bookkeeping software? Integrated within your business account.
  • Invoice scanner? Yes, please.
  • Putting your VAT aside automatically? Done.
  • International transfers? It’s possible.
  • Adding or removing directors and employees? It takes one tap.
  • Multiple trade names? Add them with no paperwork.
  • USD, EUR and GBP accounts needed? Not a problem.

All of the above and more are possible with a bunq business account. So if you were looking for a business account that makes life easy, look no further and sign up in just 5 minutes

3. Set up your office

Nowadays, “office” is a pretty vague word. It could mean a small room in your home, a shared space in the center of the city or even a sun bed in Hawaii. No matter which one you choose, make sure you have a space where you feel comfortable, inspired and motivated. A new business is hard work, so it’s only fair that you do it from your ideal location.

Alright, off you go🚀

Well, not really - as you know, there’s a lot more that goes into starting a business. But now you have your first 3 steps covered, and you’re ready to take over the world. Good luck!
