Here our top 10 favorite TV series of all time - part 1

We recently put together a list of our 10 favorite movies that received quite some love from you. Since everything we do is inspired by what you like to use (in this case, watch), we’re making a brand new top for you - this time, let’s look at the best TV series of all time.

We’ve asked bunqers around the office for their picks. The most common answer? “ONLY ONE?!”. I know it’s one of the harder questions in life, but with a bit of persistence, we’ve got some answers!

Here’s part 1: 5 out of 10 favorites!

1. Breaking Bad 🧪

Unsurprisingly, Breaking Bad was mentioned multiple times. We all have that one friend that can’t stop talking about it, even though it ended ages ago. The show deserves its praise according to pretty much any critic who knows what they’re talking about. With a whooping 9,5/10 IMDB rating and a 96% approval rate on Rotten Tomatoes, we can only say that it’s probably one of the most successful shows of all time.

What’s it about?

We won’t go into detail about the specific business the show focuses on as we’d rather not promote that here. Let’s just say there’s a lot of chemistry involved! Give it a go if you haven’t already, and check out Better Call Saul for the spin-off!

2. American Horror Story 😱

AHS (as the cool kids call it) got popular quite fast for being different and bringing the good old horror genre to the public at large. Its popularity increased even more when Lady Gaga joined and brought her massive base of fans with her. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you enjoyed watching horror movies and sleeping with the lights on throughout your teenage years, give this a go. IMBD agrees with a decent 8/10 rating and Rotten Tomatoes follows with a 76%.

What’s it about?

One of the cool things about American Horror Story is that each season has its own story so if one of them isn’t your thing, the next one might be! From a haunted farmhouse to an asylum or a cult, the show covers all sorts of creepy (and exciting) topics.

3. Arrested Development 🏠

The show appealed to plenty of people while it ran, and remained a favorite until today. It won 4 Emmy awards for Writing (twice), Outstanding Comedy and Directing. IMDB awarded it an 8,7/10 rating, and Rotten Tomatoes follows with 75%. Arrested Development is a hilarious sitcom that will have you binge watching throughout the whole Sunday.

What’s it about?

It’s about the fall of the Bluth family, once an important name in the world of real estate. Once fraud convictions ruin their lives, they need to adapt and manage the future. The Bluth’s are highly dysfunctional with plenty of issues. Michael is the only sane one, so the burden falls on him. It’s quirky, fun and cannot go wrong as long as Jason Bateman is the lead character.

Love Jason, but not a fan of Arrested Development? Check out Ozark - unless you struggle with anxiety or heart problems, then don’t.

4. Sex and the City 🏙️

Isn’t that a throwback? Sex and the City was a huge success in the late 90s by being funny, real and open about single women’s sex life which wasn’t all that common back then. Teenagers and tennagers’ moms all followed the story of 4 female friends as they navigate their daily lives in the vibrant Manhattan. IMDB rates it a 7,1/10, while Rotten Tomatoes gives it an equally satisfying 71%.

What’s it about?

Mostly, it’s about friendship. As their personal and love lives are ever changing, the 4 girls stick together for better and for worse. A famous quote that all highschool girls seemed to know 10 years ago was “Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with”. That sums it up.

5. Community 🏫

Community first aired in 2009, but lately it seems to be enjoying a new wave of fans since Netflix added it to its database. The show is highly rated by IMDB with an 8,5/10 and Rotten Tomatoes agrees with an even higher 88%. The sitcom is hilarious to follow and has a couple of famous “golden episodes” that you’ll surely remember and debate with your friends.

What’s it about?

It all starts when successful lawyer Jeff loses his fake diploma and is forced to join community college. While he constantly thinks he’s superior and doesn’t belong there, Jeff obviously ends up getting attached to some fellow students and they form a study group that - newsflash - does anything but study.

Pro tip: if you’re a Childish Gambino fan and ever wondered what he was up to before becoming a musician...you may want to check this show out!
