Our Target: The Paris Agreement
The Paris Agreement, which aims to limit the global average temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, is a key goal for us at bunq. Planting Trees in Madagascar
We've partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to make our tree-planting efforts possible. They're a non-profit organization that provides fair wage employment to impoverished villagers as agents of global forest restoration. Since they started in 2005, they have planted over 380 million trees across different project sites! These trees are planted in Madagascar, in an equatorial climate that's most efficient for taking up CO2 all year round. Each tree captures 308kg CO2 over its 25-year average lifespan.
